He cooperates with Blind & Partially Sighted Students Centre at Brno University. He participated to the ICC in 1996 & 1998. Country: Czech Republic Email: charvat@law.muni.cz Co-tutor: Karolina Stehlikova Description: The main task of this workshop is to show visually impaired students where they may find helpful dictionaries and other language tools on the Internet which might be beneficial for their studying. The emphasis will be put especially on English language. This course will cover terminology related to computing, business, economics, law and so on. We are able to adopt these topics according to needs of students. Aims: After the completion of this course the students will know resources which may help to solve their language problems. They would be able to use those tools in practise. W/S plan: First, it will be mentioned how the Internet may help with searching of unknown words and their definitions (this introduction will last for about 10 minutes). The students will be also asked what topics they are interested. Afterwards, the students will have an opportunity to try to find meaning of words from the particular field of their interest. Students pre-requests: The students should have basic knowledge about the Internet and they should know how to use the Internet Explorer.
