In the spring semester 2009 there arose a possibility of floorball classes. The classes are primarily intended for students with hearing impairment and they are taught by Marek Bednařík.

Floorball is an easy and dynamic team sport without contact between players ,which is currently one of the most quickly developing sports in the Czech Republic as well as in the world. It is becoming more and more popular not only with men but also with women. Its popularity is also due to its great attractiveness for the audience who appreciate not only the tactics and cooperation of the team, but also the technical skills of individual players.

The aim of the game is to score as many goals as possible into the opponent's goal. The players are divided into two teams, each consisting of a goalkeeper and five players in the field. It is played with a light floorball stick and a plastic whiffle ball. The goalkeepers do not have a stick; they use their hands to catch the ball and are usually equipped with guards.

Attractiveness of floorball for the hearing impaired is caused by the possibility of a dynamic team game in a team of players with the same communication preferences. These are also employed during the theoretical explanation, commented practical training as well as during the game itself through the visual signals between the coach and players as well as amongst the players themselves.

Content of the classes

  1. Warm-up and initial stretching
  2. Condition training (jogging after the warm-up, sprints and endurance exercises)
