Codex Gigas
Exhibition realization: 1 June to 11 June 2010
A short term exhibition of a model of a 13th-century medieval codex.
The model was created for a book fair Libri 2007 in Olomouc for Nadační ústav regionální spolupráce (Endowment fund for regional cooperation). The basis for print constituted digital data provided by the National Library in Stockholm, the cover and binding was also produced according to the original. The materials used for the model were paper sheets of 300g/m2 paper stock weight, wood and cowhide for cover and brass plate for ornamental ironwork. The text was copied only from one third that is on 210 pages of the model. Its size is the same as the one of the original, the model is heavier by three kilograms.
